FAQ
Will It Hurt?
You may feel a quick sting, but most clients find it manageable. The discomfort usually lessens with regular waxing appointments.
What should I expect immediately afterward?
Mild redness or sensitivity is normal and usually fades within a few hours. Keep the area clean and avoid heat, friction, and heavy sweating for the rest of the day.
How long will my wax last?
The effects of waxing typically endure for a period ranging from 3 to 6 weeks or longer, influenced by individual hair growth rates, the area being waxed, and the precision of the waxing technique. Should you have reservations about whether waxing is suitable for you, numerous alternative hair removal methods are available, offering results that can last from several days to weeks, and even more extended options. I will create a tailored plan to help you achieve long-term results, which will ultimately lead to a reduction in hair growth over time.
How long after shaving should I wait to wax?
It is essential to permanently set aside the razor. Avoid scheduling a waxing appointment immediately after shaving, as the hair can be particularly resistant and difficult to eliminate. There is no assurance that all hair will be removed in a single waxing session. It is advisable to wait a minimum of two to three weeks before returning for waxing. This interval allows sufficient time for hair to grow to at least the size of a grain of rice and enables your skin to recover from any bumps or irritation caused by shaving.
can i get waxed while taking medication?
Please disclose all medications and skincare products before your appointment, including prescription creams, retinoids and acne treatments. Some can increase skin sensitivity and the risk of skin lifting during waxing.
Do not stop or change prescribed medication to receive a waxing service. Consult your prescribing clinician about whether waxing is appropriate for you.
Waxing should be avoided while taking isotretinoin (Accutane) and for at least six months after treatment ends. If you use topical retinoids or retinol, contact us before booking so we can discuss the treatment area and any precautions with guidance from your clinician.

Skin lifting occurs when waxing removes surface skin along with the hair. The risk can increase with retinoid use, recent exfoliating treatments, sunburn or irritated skin.
Tell us about medications, including steroids and blood thinners, and any conditions that affect your skin or healing. These may require additional precautions or guidance from your prescribing clinician before waxing.

Please let us know before your appointment if you have sensitive skin, a history of reactions to waxing or a diagnosed skin condition.

Your comfort matters. Tell us immediately if you experience burning or unusual discomfort during your service.
when should i postpone my waxing appointment?
Postpone waxing if the treatment area is sunburned, broken, infected, irritated or still healing from a recent skin treatment.

Shaving: Refrain from shaving for a minimum of three weeks prior to your appointment to allow the hair to grow sufficiently for removal from the root.
Sun exposure: Steer clear of sun exposure on the areas designated for waxing for 24 to 48 hours before your appointment, as it can lead to drier and more sensitive skin.

can i wax on my period or minocycline?
Yes, It is possible that the experience may be more uncomfortable based on your individual pain threshold, and the recovery time for your skin may be extended. Consider the following factors:
Pain Sensitivity During menstruation, your body may exhibit increased sensitivity, potentially resulting in heightened discomfort during waxing procedures. Research indicates that women often report significantly greater pain levels during their menstrual phase compared to their ovulatory phase. Hygiene Considerations To ensure proper hygiene, it is advisable to use a new tampon or menstrual cup with the string securely tucked in prior to your appointment. Additionally, it is recommended to change your tampon or empty your cup immediately before the session. Skin Preparation Prior to waxing, it is essential to cleanse and exfoliate the area to eliminate any dirt, oil, sweat, or residue. Ultimately, it is crucial to pay attention to your body and determine whether waxing is suitable for you. While some estheticians suggest postponing waxing until after your menstrual cycle, others maintain that it is acceptable to undergo waxing during your period, provided you wear a tampon during the appointment.
I recommend every client to either Tylenol, Advil, or Motrin at least 30 min prior to your appointment.
